Dreaming of the Crystal Blue Water of Bear Lake Utah
Heading north from Heber City, Utah we were looking for a place to stop without traveling too far. Montana is our destination by way of Jackson, Wyoming and hoping to stop by Yellowstone.
On the map we spotted a lake...let's go there.
We are so glad that we did.
We lucked out and found a pull through spot at the Traveland RV Park and Campground.
The RV park was sufficient, good hookups and easy to pull in to. The park was full of families which was a noticeable difference for the first time for us. The age range of most of the people we had encountered at RV parks we had visited was easily 50 plus.
We had a little bit of trouble when we pulled in to check in, we weren't sure of the best place to park. Once we were given a spot, we had to drive around the park to resituate ourselves. We almost took out a flower barrel planter, our first close call, but we didn't, just had to back up swing back out onto the road and head down the other lane.
It seems like it is always something.
Parked and hooked up we went out to explore. We had seen a good portion of the lake to get to the campground and we had noticed beaches where people were swimming.
We found a parking area where we could head down to the water.
As I write this I sound like it was planned...but it wasn't.
It was NEEDED.
After a few days of hard travel, traveling with a three-nager and just adjusting to our new life with the stresses of learning new things, pulling a trailer for the first time and navigating RV life, we needed a little bit of play time.
This was the perfect spot.
We didn't think to grab our swimsuits or even a change of clothes for the munchkin.
Our daughter thought it was awesome she could get in the water with her dress on. The little girl in the swimsuit followed us around for the first 20 minutes we were there.
The water was warm and crystal clear.
I really don't have much more to say about this place except that it was good for my soul.
We decided to explore more and found a road that took us around the perimeter of the lake. We discovered more camping sites and places to check out when we return.
We had fun Bear Lake!
